The lunar eclipse I didn't see
- Henley in Arden, Warks, Sept. 16, 1997
- It was said that the earth's shadow
- Would fall on the moon today at 18:00 hours
- Totally obscuring it from view.
- So, at the scheduled time,
- I dutifully climbed to
- The site of the prehistoric settlement
- To witness the moon
- That should not have been.
- It didn't disappoint me.
- There it wasn't in all its splendor.
- Not in the eastern sky;
- Exactly where it wasn't supposed to have been,
- Nor in any other.
- Now I am one with those invisible lunar creatures
- Who do not see us on nights of our eclipse.
